About Factors

A factor (or divisor) of a number is a whole number that divides it evenly (with no remainder). Every number can be uniquely expressed as a product of prime numbers — this is called prime factorization. For example, 12 = 2² × 3, and the full set of factors is {1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12}.
