About Roots

The nth root of x (written ⁿ√x) is a value that, when multiplied by itself n times, gives x. For example: √25 = 5 because 5×5=25, and ∛8 = 2 because 2×2×2=8. Roots are equivalent to fractional exponents: ⁿ√x = x^(1/n).
